Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a método para fabricar un artículo compuesto de cerámica autoportante que tiene un núcleo poroso que lleva una capa superficial densa formada integralmente con dicho núcleo, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: a) preparar una pre-forma que comprende un material de carga y metal madre distribuido a través de dicho material de carga y en donde el porcentaje volumétrico de metal madre es suficiente para formar un volumen de producto de reacción de oxidación que supera el volumen total disponible dentro de dicha pre-forma; b) fundir dicho metal madre en presencia de un oxidante y hacer reaccionar el metal madre en fusión resultante al ponerse en contacto con el mismo para formar un producto de reacción de oxidación; c) inducir el transporte de dicho metal madre en fusión a través de dicho producto de reacción de oxidación hacia dicho oxidante para continuar la formación del producto de reacción dentro de dicha pre-forma llenando sustancialmente con ésto dicho volumen espacial disponible, y concurrentemente formando vacíos sustancialmente a través de toda dicha pre-forma que al menos parcialmente repiten inversamente la geometría de dicho metal madre; d) continuar dicha reacción para transportar ulteriormente metal madre en fusión a través de dicho producto de reacción de oxidación hacia dicho oxidante y hasta por lo menos una superficie de dicha pre-forma par formar producto de reacción de oxidación sobre dicha superficie sustancialmente libre de vacíos formando con ésto una capa superficial relativamente densa; y e) recuperar dicho artículo compuesto de cerámica.
