Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a método para producir un cuerpo compuesto de cerámica manteniendo bajo esfuerzo de compresión por un miembro de envoltura, comprendiendo dicho cuerpo compuesto (1) una matríz de cerámica obtenida por oxidación de un metal madre para formar un metal policristalino que comprende (i) el producto de reacción de oxidación de dicho metal madre con un oxidante y, optativamente, (ii) uno o más constituyentes metálicos y, (2) una masa de carga sumergida por dicha matríz CARACTERIZADO por comprender los pasos de: (a) calentar dicho metal madre a un margen de temperatura por sobre su punto de fusión pero debajo del punto de fusión de dicho producto de reacción de oxidación para formar un cuerpo de metal madre en fusión; (b) poner en contacto dicho metal en fusión con una carga en presencia de un oxidante, estando contenida por lo menos parte de dicha carga dentro de dicho miembro de envoltura y en acoplamiento de conformación con una superficie interior de dicho miembro de envoltura, por lo cual dicha superficie define un límite superficial de dicha masa de carga de modo que la formación de dicho producto de reacción de oxidación se producirá dentro de dicha masa de carga y en dirección hacia, a lo largo de, dicho límite superficial; y (c) en dicho márgen de temperatura (1) hacer reaccionar dicho metal en fusión con dicho oxidante para formar dicho producto de reacción de oxidación, (2) mantener al menos una porción de dicho producto de reacción de oxidación en contacto con, y entre, dicho metal madre en fusión y dicho oxidante, para atraer selectivamente metal madre en fusión a través del producto de reacción de oxidación hacia el oxidante de modo que el producto de reacción de oxidación se continúa formando dentro de dicha tabla en la interfase entre dicho oxidante y el producto de reacción de oxidación formado previamente, y (3) continuar dicha reacción hasta que dicho material policristalino haya infiltrado dicha carga hasta dicho límite superficial para producir dicho cuerpo compuesto de cerámica, y (4) recuperar dicho cuerpo compuesto de cerámica que tiene dicho miembro de envoltura ajustado intrínsecamente sobre el mismo para mantener dicho cuerpo compuesto bajo esfuerzo de compresión.
