Claims (13)

  1. 하기 일반식의 불소화 화합물:
    상기식에서,이거나이고; R1은 수소 또는 12개까지의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬이며; R2는 수소, 12개까지의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬, 12개까지의 탄소원자를 갖는 알콕시,또는(여기서, R3는 수소 또는 12개까지의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬이며, R4는 수소, 12개까지의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬 또는 12개까지의 탄소원자를 갖는 알콕시이다)이고;는 1,4-이중치환된 경우 트랜스 배열인 시클로헥산 환이며;는 벤젠 환이고; X, Y 및 Z 중 하나이상이 불소인 경우, X,Y 및 Z는 독립적으로 1개이상의 측면 벤젠환 위치의 불소 또는 수소이며; n은 0 또는 1 [단, n=0인 경우,R2이고, R1은 알킬이며; n=1이고R2R2(여기서, R1은 n-알킬이고 R2는 n-알킬 또는 n-알콕시이다)인 경우, R1및 R22개의 그룹중의 탄소원자와 산소원자와의 총합은 10미만이다]이다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 언급된 화합물이 하기식의 바이페닐인 불소화 화합물:
    상기식에서 RA는 n-알킬이고, RB는 n-알킬 또는 n-알콕시이며, 단, RA및 RB중의 탄소원자와 산소원자와의 총합은 10미말이고, X와 Y는 H 및 F로부터 선택되며, 적어도 하나는 F이다.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, R1및 R2중의 탄소원자와 산소원자와의 총합이 4 내지 8인 불소화 화합물.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 언급된 화합물이 하기식의 키럴 바이페닐인 불소화 화합물:
    상기 식에서, RA는 n-알킬이고, RB는 키럴알킬이며, X 및 Y는 H 및 F로부터 선택되며, 적어도 하나는 F이다.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 언급된 화합물이 하기 일반식을 갖는 불소화 화합물:
    상기 식에서, R2는 알킬이고, X,Y 및 Z는 독립적으로 H 및 F로부터 선택되며, 적어도 하나는 F이다.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 언급된 화합물이 하기식의 터페닐인 불소화 화합물:
    상기 식에서, R1은 n-알킬이고, R2는 n-알킬 또는 n-알콕시이며, X, Y, Z 및 W는 독립적으로 F 및 H로부터 선택되며, 적어도 하나는 F이다.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 언급된 화합물이 하기 일반식의 바이페닐 유도체인 불소화 화합물:
    상기 식에서, R1은 알킬그룹이고,는 1,4-이중치환된 시클로헥산환이며,는 바이페닐측의 측면에 위치한 1개이상의 불소치환기를 갖는 바이페닐이고, Q는 수소 또는(여기서, R2는 알킬이다)이며, n은 0 또는 1이다.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 그룹로부터 선택되는 바이페닐 유도체.
  9. 제7항에 있어서, R1및 R2가 모두 독립적으로 n-알킬그룹인 바이페닐 유도체.
  10. 제1항에서와 같은 일반식(Ⅰ)의 상이한 화합물들의 혼합물로 이루어진 액정조성물.
  11. 제3항에서와 같은 상이한 화합물들의 혼합물의 이루어진 액정 조성물.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 언급된 조성물중의 상이한 화합물들이 각각 R2=n-알킬을 가지며, R1및 R2두개의 그룹중의 탄소원자의 총수가 상이한 조성물.
  13. 적어도 하나는 광학적으로 투명한 2개이 유전기판, 이들 기판사이에 삽입된 1중 이상의 본 발명 화합물을 함유하는 액정물질층 및 이들 기판의 내부표면상의 전극들로 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 액정물질층 전체에 전기장을 형성하므로써 전기광학효과를 제공할 수 있는 액정장치.
