Claims (7)
- 표시용 액정층과, 해당 표시용 액정층에 대하여 표시용 전계를 부여하는 표시용 전계 부여 구조와, 상기 표시용 액정층의 양쪽에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 편광층을 구비한 액정 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 편광층과 상기 표시용 액정층 사이에 배치된 시각(視覺) 제어용 액정층과,해당 시각 제어용 액정층에 시각 제어용 전계를 부여하는 시각 제어용 전계 부여 구조를 갖고,상기 시각 제어용 액정층은 수평 배향 상태와 수직 배향 상태를 전환할 수 있게 구성되고,또한, 상기 시각 제어용 액정층의 상기 수평 배향 상태에서의 지상축(a phase-lagging axis)은, 상기 시각 제어용 액정층에 대하여 상기 표시용 액정층과는 반대쪽에 배치된 상기 편광층의 편광 투과축 또는 편광 흡수축과 평행하게 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 시각 제어용 액정층은, 상기 시각 제어용 전계 부여 구조에 의한 전계 무인가시에 상기 수평 배향 상태가 되고, 전계 인가시에 상기 수직 배향 상태가 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 시각 제어용 액정층은, 상기 시각 제어용 전계 부여 구조에 의한 전계 무인가시에 상기 수직 배향 상태가 되고, 전계 인가시에 상기 수평 배향 상태가 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 시각 제어용 액정층의 상기 수평 배향 상태에서의 배향 방위각은, 상기 편광 투과축 및 상기 편광 흡수축에 대하여 실질적으로 평행한 4방위로 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 표시용 액정층의 양쪽에 위상차층이 각각 인접 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 시각 제어용 액정층의 상기 지상축은, 표시 화면을 정면에서 본 경우에, 경사지게 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 청구항 1 내지 4 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 액정 표시 장치를 탑재한 전자 기기.
