Claims (7)
- 액정 구동용 전극을 구비한 제1 기판과 제2 기판과의 사이에 끼워진 액정 배향의 수직 방향 성분 및 평면 방향 성분을 전계에 의해 제어하는 액정 표시 장치로서,액정에 인가하는 구동 전압 범위의 하한을 0 볼트보다 크게 설정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 액정 구동용 전극을 구비한 제1 기판과 제2 기판과의 사이에 끼워진 액정 배향의 수직 방향 성분 및 평면 방향 성분을 전계에 의해 제어하는 액정 표시 장치로서,액정에 인가하는 구동 전압 범위의 하한을 액정의 광학 특성 변화 전압 이상으로 설정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 액정층에 인가하는 상기 구동 전압 범위의 하한은 표시 콘트라스트 50 이상을 만족하는 전압 범위 내로 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 구동 전압 범위의 하한을 온도 의존성을 갖는 액정의 광학 특성 변화 전압의 온도 변화에 의한 전압 변화에 추종시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 액정은 초기 경사각이 거의 0도의 수직 또는 수평으로 초기 배향되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 액정 구동용 전극에는 소정 형상의 전극 부재 영역이 설치되고, 상기 전극의 단부에 발생하는 경사 방향의 전계에 의해, 상기 액정 배향의 평면 방향 성분을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판 상의 액정 구동용 전극은 상기 기판 상에 매트릭스 형상으로 설치된 복수의 화소 전극이며,능동층에 저온에서 형성된 다결정 실리콘층을 이용한 다결정 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터가 대응하는 상기 화소 전극에 접속되도록 형성되고,상기 복수의 화소 전극 각각과, 상기 제2 기판 상의 액정 구동용 전극인 공통 전극과의 사이에서 액정층을 화소 전극마다 구동하여 표시를 행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
