- 피부 조직에서 카로테노이드를 비침습적으로 측정하는 방법에 있어서, 상기 방법은,- 검출될 카로테노이드에 대한 파장 변이를 갖는 라만 반응을 생성하는 파장의 빛을 발생시키는 광원을 제공하는 단계로서, 상기 빛의 파장은 450nm 내지 520 nm인 것을 특징으로 하는 단계,- 카로테노이드가 측정될 생체 조직에 광원으로부터 나온 빛을 지향시키는 단계로서, 이때, 이 빛은 조직을 파괴시키지 않고 조직의 카로테노이드 수준을 변화시키지 않는 강도를 가지는 단계로서, 이때, 상기 빛의 강도는 최대 200mW/cm2 인 것을 특징으로 하는 단계,- 조직으로부터 산란된 빛을 집광시키는 단계로서, 이때, 산란된 빛은 탄성적 산란 빛과 비탄성적 산란 빛을 포함하며, 상기 비탄성적 산란 빛에 의해 조직의 카로테노이드에 상응하는 라만 신호가 생성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 단계,- 상기 탄성 산란 빛을 필터링하여 제거하는 단계,- 라만 신호의 강도를 정량화하는 단계, 그리고- 검출되는 카로테노이드의 라만 신호로부터 피부 조직의 배경 형광 신호를 빼는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 피부 조직에서 카로테노이드를 비침습적으로 측정하는 방법.
- 제 16 항에 있어서, 상기 광원은 검출될 카로테노이드의 흡수 대역과 중첩되는 파장의 빛을 발생시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 피부 조직에서 카로테노이드를 비침습적으로 측정하는 방법.

- 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치에 있어서, 상기 장치는,- 검출될 카로테노이드에 대한 파장 변이를 갖는 라만 반응을 생성하는 파장의 빛을 발생시키는 레이저 광원,- 생체 조직을 향해 빛을 지향시키고 상기 조직으로부터 산란된 빛을 집광시키는 빛 전달 및 집광 모듈로서, 이때, 이 빛의 강도가 최대 200 mW/cm2이어서, 빛이 조직을 손상시키지 않고 조직 내 카로테노이드 수준도 변경시키지 않도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 상기 빛 전달 및 집광 모듈을 포함하며, 상기 빛 전달 및 집광 모듈은,- 레이저 빛을 시준하기 위한 제 1 렌즈,- 상기 제 1 렌즈와 광학적으로 연결되는 제 1 협대역폭 필터,- 상기 제 1 협대역폭 필터와 광학적으로 연결되는 제 1, 2 이색 광선 분리기,- 상기 제 2 이색 광선 분리기로부터 나온 레이저 빛의 빔을 조직을 향해 지향시키고 조직으로부터 산란된 빛을 집광시키는 제 2 렌즈,- 상기 제 2 렌즈와 광학적으로 연결되는 제 2 협대역폭 필터, 그리고- 상기 제 2 협대역폭 필터와 광학적으로 연결되는 제 3 렌즈를 포함하며, 상기 장치는,- 집광된 산란 빛으로부터 라만 변이 빛을 선택하는 스펙트럼 선택 시스템,- 카로테노이드의 주파수 특성에서 라만 변이 빛을 스캔하고 측정하는 검출 수단, 그리고- 검출될 카로테노이드에 대한 라만 신호 강도를 결정하기 위한 정량화 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치.
- 제 22 항에 있어서, 상기 광원은 450nm 내지 520nm 파장 범위의 레이저 빛을 발생시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치.
- 제 22 항에 있어서, 상기 스펙트럼 선택 시스템은 회절 격자 분광계(grating spectrometer)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치.
- 제 22 항에 있어서, 상기 스펙트럼 선택 시스템은 회절격자 단색화 장치(grating monochromater)인 것을 특징으로 하는 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치.
- 제 22 항에 있어서, 상기 스펙트럼 선택 시스템은 입체영상 필터(holographic filter)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치.
- 제 22 항에 있어서, 상기 스펙트럼 선택 시스템은 절연 필터(dielectric filter)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생체 조직에서 카로테노이드 및 관련 화학 물질을 비침습성으로 측정하는 장치.
