Description
また、1次粒子を乾燥状態で得ることができず、1次粒子を予備成形に供することができないという問題もあった。
以下に本発明について詳細に説明する。
ここで、1次粒子とは、1次粒子として分散液中に存在していることをいう。
特に、分散液に有機溶剤が5質量%以上含まれると、押出成形が極めて容易となるとともに、分散液の取扱性や保管及び移送の際の安定性にも優れる。
上記ペースト押出成形とは、円形、方形等の断面形状をもつシリンダ内に押出し物を入れて、ラムやピストン等の機械的手段で、常圧(自然状態の圧力)よりも加圧して、シリンダ断面積よりも小さいダイから押出すことで成形体を得る成形方法である。
上記特定条件とは、シリンダ内径が50mm、マンドレル外径が16mm、ダイ角度が30度、ダイ内径が0.77mmの電線成形用ペースト押出し機(例えば、田端機械工業株式会社製横型電線ペースト押出し成形機)で、芯線として直径0.70mmであるニッケルメッキ銅線を線速度5m/minで押出すことにより、ニッケルメッキ銅線上に上記分散液を20〜40mmの厚みで分散液を塗布する状態である。
なお、各実施例及び比較例において、各値の測定は以下の方法により行った。
水性分散液を250℃で1時間乾燥した時の質量減少より求めた。
電線の直径をマイクロメーターで計測し、計測値から芯線径を引いた値を2で除することにより求めた。
乳化重合により得られたHomoPTFEの1次粒子の水性分散液を曇点濃縮法により固形分60wt%まで濃縮し、更に、炭化水素系溶剤(商品名、アイソパーG(登録商標)、エクソン社製)をPTFE固形分に対して30wt%加えた。このようにして得られた分散液を、押出金型内寸0.77mmのペースト押出機により、芯線としてニッケルメッキ線(直径0.7mm)を使って押出した。
ペースト押出機のシリンダ直径は50mm、マンドレル外径は16mmであった。押出圧力は5MPaであった。押出直後は、ロールやプーリーなどで方向転換する前に乾燥、焼成を行った。焼成には、380℃の熱風を使用した。ニッケルメッキ線0.7mmの表面に、片面28μmのPTFE被覆を作ることができた。
押出金型内寸を0.72mmとした以外は、実施例1と同様に電線被覆を行った。ニッケルメッキ線の表面に、片面8μmの被覆を行うことができた。押出圧力は、20MPaであった。
乳化重合により得られた変性PTFE(ヘキサフルオロプロピレン単位0.8質量%、SSG2.175)の1次粒子の水性分散液を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様に電線被覆を行った。
押出圧力は1.2MPaで、被覆厚みは26μmであった。
押し出し金型内寸を0.72mmにしたこと以外は実施例3と同様に電線成形を
行ったところ片面7μmの被覆を行うことができた。押出圧力は5.5MPaであった。
PTFEファインパウダー(商品名、ポリフロンF−208、ダイキン工業株式会社製)と、PTFEファインパウダーに対して18wt%の炭化水素系溶剤(商品名、アイソパーG(登録商標)、エクソン社製)とを混合し、実施例1と同様に押出しを行ったが、押出圧力を90MPaとしても押し出すことができなかった。
Claims (5)
- ポリテトラフルオロエチレンの1次粒子の分散液の押出成形を行う工程
を含むことを特徴とするポリテトラフルオロエチレン成形品の製造方法。 - 分散液は、ポリテトラフルオロエチレンの1次粒子を50〜90質量%、水を0.1〜20質量%、界面活性剤を0〜1質量%、及び、有機溶剤を0〜30質量%含むものである請求項1記載のポリテトラフルオロエチレン成形品の製造方法。
- 乳化重合により、ポリテトラフルオロエチレンの1次粒子の分散液を得る工程(a)、及び、
前記工程(a)により得られた分散液を濃縮して、1次粒子の分散液を得る工程(b)を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のポリテトラフルオロエチレン成形品の製造方法。 - 押出成形は、ペースト押出し成形である請求項1、2又は3記載のポリテトラフルオロエチレン成形品の製造方法。
- ポリテトラフルオロエチレンは、乳化重合により得られる1次粒子の状態で分散液中に存在する請求項1、2、3又は4記載のポリテトラフルオロエチレン成形品の製造方法。
