Abstract
Description
上記本発明の切削工具を構成する超硬合金の製造方法の一例について説明する。
平均粒径1.4μmの炭化タングステン(WC)粉末、平均粒径1.6μmの金属コバルト(Co)粉末、平均粒径1.5μmの炭化チタン(TiC)粉末、平均粒径1.4μmのTaC粉末、その他ZrC、NbCをそれぞれ表1に記載の配合組成で添加、混合して、プレス成形により切削工具形状(CNMG120408)に成形した後、脱バインダ処理を施し、表1に記載の方法で焼成して試料No.A−Dの超硬合金を作製した。
(1)耐摩耗性試験

Claims (10)
- 硬質材からなる切削工具であって、
前記硬質材は、硬質相と結合金属とを含む基体と、該基体の表面に形成されたTiN層とを備えており、
前記基体は、Ti、Ta、Nb、Zrの少なくとも1種と、Wとを含む炭化物、窒化物、炭窒化物の少なくとも1種の固溶体からなるβ相を有しており、
前記β相は、少なくとも一部が前記基体の表面に存在しており、
前記TiN層は、前記基体表面のβ相の直上に、該β相の結晶と同じ方位関係を持った結晶を有することを特徴とする切削工具。 - 硬質材からなる切削工具であって、
前記硬質材は、硬質相と結合金属とを備える基体と、該基体の表面に形成されたTiN層とを備えており、
前記基体は、Ti、Ta、Nb、Zrの少なくとも1種と、Wとを含む炭化物、窒化物、炭窒化物の少なくとも1種の固溶体からなるβ相を有しており、
前記β相は、少なくとも一部が前記基体の表面に存在しており、
前記TiN層は、前記基体との界面において前記基体の表面のβ相上でエピタキシャル成長した部分を有することを特徴とする切削工具。 - 前記基体は、前記β相を1〜8wt%含有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記基体のTiN層との界面における基準長さ10μmに対する最大高さRmaxが0.05〜0.35μmであることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の切削工具。
- 前記TiN膜におけるTiN結晶の膜厚方向に対して垂直な方向の平均結晶幅が10〜50nmであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の切削工具。
- 硬質材からなる切削工具の製造方法であって、
硬質相と、結合金属と、Ti、Ta、Nb、Zrの少なくとも1種及びWを含む炭化物、窒化物、炭窒化物の少なくとも1種の固溶体からなるβ相と、を含む基体を研磨して、前記β相を前記基体の表面に露出させる研磨工程と、
前記基体表面の酸化を還元するともに、該基体表面にNの結合肢を発生させる前処理工程と、
CVD法により前記基体上に、前記基体表面に露出したβ相の直上でエピタキシャル成長した部分を有するTiN層を形成するTiN層成膜工程とを有する切削工具の製造方法。 - 前記前処理工程は、CVD炉内において、H2を50〜75vol%、N2を25〜50vol%の範囲内でそれぞれ含み合計が100vol%になるように混合したガスを導入し、
前記基体を前記CVD炉において、前記導入するガスの常温常圧での流量をVg(L/min)、前記CVD炉内の体積をVr(L)としたときのVg/Vr(1/min)が0.1〜0.3になるように制御した状態で保持することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の切削工具の製造方法。 - 前記TiN層成膜工程は、前記CVD炉内に、TiCl4が0.3〜1.2vol%、H2が35〜65vol%、N2が35〜65vol%の範囲内でそれぞれ含み合計が100vol%になるように混合したガスを導入し、一定の圧力で前記Vg/Vrが0.7〜1.1(1/min)になるように制御することにより、CVD法により前記基体上に、前記基体表面に露出したβ相上でエピタキシャル成長した部分を有するTiN層を形成することを特徴とする請求項6又は請求項7に記載の切削工具の製造方法。
- 前記前処理工程における前記基体を前記CVD炉に保持する時間が10〜60分であることを特徴とする請求項7又は8に記載の切削工具の製造方法。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれかの切削工具を用いて被削材を切削する切削方法であって、
前記被削材に切削工具を相対的に近づける近接工程と、
前記被削材又は切削工具の少なくとも一方を回転させ、前記切削工具を被削材に接触させて切削する切削工程と、
前記被削材と前記切削工具とを相対的に遠ざける離間工程とを、備えることを特徴とする切削方法。
