Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、固体潤滑剤、結合剤および粘稠剤を含む、鋼
を高温加工する際に用いる潤滑剤に関する。
金属の無切削加工、とくに継目鋼無情製造の際の芯金の
潤滑に、たとえば黒鉛、アルキレン系重合体または共重
合体および分散剤または被膜安定剤を含有する潤滑剤を
用いることが知られている(ドイツ連邦特許明細書第2
450716号。)このような潤滑剤は、いわゆるMP
M(多段式ロール)工程に用いるときには、多くの要求
を満たさなければならない。 すなわち、潤滑剤は水性
分散剤を使用して経済的に適用であって簡単に塗布する
ことができ、担体j−3よび水の分離後、耐水性の均一
で緻密な被膜が形成され、この被膜は高温高圧下で固体
潤滑剤粒子の均一な分散により、高い殿械的安定性を示
すものでなければならない。
これらの要求を満足する本質的な部分は、結合剤にある
。 このような結合剤として、ドイツ連邦特許明細書4
50716号などには、ブタジェンおよびスチレンおJ
:びスチレン共重合体が挙げである。
しかし、これら既知の結合剤は、このような潤滑剤に対
する添加量を増大しても、すべての要求を満足させるこ
とはできない。 結合剤としてのブタジェンは柔かすぎ
、またスチレンは通常の共重合体を用いても、最適の被
膜を形成することができない。 また、ヨーロッパ特許
明細書0164637号には、高温用潤滑剤の例として
スチレン−ブタジェン−共重合体が記載されている。 
しかし、その形成には多量の無機塩混合物を必要とする
ため、たとえばMPM工程において、耐水性の悪さに起
因する不利な作用を示す。
本発明の課題は、上記のような欠点のない潤滑剤を提供
するにある。
本発明によれば、この課題は、結合剤としてカルボキシ
ル スを含有する潤滑剤によって解決される。
結合剤としてのカルボキシル化スチレン−ブタジエンラ
テックスは、スチレン含有口が50%、好ましくは70
〜80%のものが用いられる。
水性分散剤としての結合剤は、潤滑剤の他の成分に対し
固形分で40〜60重D%とするのが好ましい。
分散剤は、この場合、本質的には水中で、既に分散して
いる潤滑剤に加えられて、これに結合できるものでなけ
ればならない。
潤滑剤の組成は、固体同滑剤または固体潤滑剤混合物、
好ましくは黒鉛を50〜80徂0X%、結合剤を乾燥品
で20〜50徂母%、d3よび粘稠剤を0.2〜5.0
重足%を含有してなる。
また、従来、泥膜、乳化剤、殺菌剤および抗酸化剤のよ
うな添加剤を加えることが右利であることが判明してい
る。 個々の添加量は製品仕様ヤ予tiiii実験によ
って定めるが、通常は2市■%以下でおる。
本発明による潤滑剤に用いられる個々の成分は、後述す
る製品のグループから選ぶことができる。
固体潤滑剤としては、黒鉛、MOS2 (二酸化モリブ
デン)またはBNを用いることができる。
これらの固体潤滑剤の中では、黒鉛がとくに良好な結果
を示す。 黒鉛の中でも、純度が高く、たとえば96%
以上で、粒径が300μm以下のものがすぐれている。
 最良の結果は、純度99.5%で粒径1 00t1m
の場合に得られる。
潤滑剤は、水性分散液の10〜60重■%の範囲で使用
すべきである。分散液の粘度は、10〜30’Cで50
0〜15000Cl)を示すものが好ましい。
分散液の粘度調整には、粘稠剤または粘稠剤混合物を用
いる。 粘稠剤の具体例としては、水溶性の多糖類、ヒ
ドロキシアルキルセルロースまたはカルボキシメチルセ
ルロース ルキルセルロース、ポリビニルアルコール、ボリアクリ
ル酸とその誘導体、中和または未中和の天然ゴムまたは
その誘導体(たとえばグアル)、ポリビニルピロリドン
、ポリエチレンオキサイド、必要であれば粘土、モンモ
リロナイト、変性モンモリロナイト、ベントナイトなど
の鉱物、および天然ピッチまたは天然アスファルトなど
の充填材がある。
前述したように、潤滑剤は水性分散液の形態で使用され
る。 特許請求の範囲第1項による潤滑剤の水性分散液
は、80〜350’Cの温度で工具に塗布できる作用を
もつ。 すなわち、加熱された表面に塗布すると、分散
液の水性担持液が蒸発し、均一な緻密層をもつ潤滑剤の
被膜が形成される。
この潤滑剤の被膜は均一な耐水性の溝道をもち、かつ、
工具を溢れるような人聞の冷却媒体を用いても、洗い流
されたり膨罰したりすることはない。
本発明による潤滑剤は、たとえば鋼塊または管などの工
作物を加工するために、芯金の挿入を行なう際、とくに
鋼の熱間加工およびいわゆるMPM工程により鋼塊を継
目無管に圧延加工する際に、また場合によっては、連続
圧延、衝撃加工装置、条鋼圧延またはハンマー鍛造にお
いて、軸、ピストン棒またはダイスなどの工具を潤滑す
るのに好適である。
MPM工程における芯金の挿入を行なう際に、従来の潤
滑剤に要求されていた事項は、本発明によりすべて完全
に満足される。 とくに80〜350℃の温度で使用し
、加工すると、厚さ10〜100mμの被膜が形成され
る。 この被膜は耐水性であって、俊続する水冷操作に
よっても、何ら影響を受けない。 軸温度150〜25
0℃では、被膜は良好な機械的性質(たとえば、ジッケ
ンスの割れ試験で割れ硬度6゜5N>を示す。 潤滑剤
の耐熱温度は、350°Cまで全く問題がない。
このような効果は、次に述べる実例でも明らかなように
、従来の潤滑剤では17られない。

Claims (6)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)鋼を高温で無切削加工する際に用いる、固体潤滑
    剤、結合剤および粘稠剤を含む潤滑剤において、結合剤
    としてカルボキシル化スチレン−ブタジエンラテックス
    を用いることを特徴とする潤滑剤。
  2. (2)カルボキシル化スチレン−ブタジエンラテックス
    のスチレン含有量が50%以上、好ましくは70〜80
    %であることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項の潤滑
    剤。
  3. (3)水性分散剤としての結合剤が、潤滑剤の他の成分
    に対して固形分で40〜60重量%であることを特徴と
    する特許請求の範囲第1項または第2項の潤滑剤。
  4. (4)潤滑剤が、固体潤滑剤とくに黒鉛を50〜80重
    量%、特許請求の範囲第1項ないし第3項の結合剤を乾
    燥品で20〜50重量%、そして粘稠剤を0.2〜5.
    0重量%含んでいることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第
    1項ないし第3項のいずれかの潤滑剤。
  5. (5)潤滑剤が水性分散剤として固形分10〜60重量
    %を含有し、これを熱い工具に塗布して水性担持液を蒸
    発させ、高い機械的強度をもつ均一な耐水性の潤滑剤被
    膜を形成し、工具を冷却後、無切削加工を開始するよう
    にしたことを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項ないし第
    4項のいずれかの潤滑剤。
  6. (6)特許請求の範囲第1項による固体潤滑剤、結合剤
    および粘稠剤を含有する潤滑剤を用いて、鋼を高温で無
    切削加工する際に工具を潤滑する方法において、結合剤
    としてカルボキシル化スチレン−ブタジエンラテックス
    を用いることを特徴とする方法。
