Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 本考案は製造しやすく取付やすい樹脂封止型の
発光ダイオード表示器に関する。
従来第１図に示す様に発光ダイオード１７，１
７を透光性樹脂１６で覆つて大きい表示面を得る
発光ダイオード表示器において、外形を整えるた
めと側方に広がる光を表示面側に指向するために
不透明樹脂からなる外枠１１を用いているが、そ
の底面には表示器を支持基板（図示せず）に固定
する際高さをそろえる為の突出部１２，１２，１
２，１２を設けており、この突出部１２，１２，
１２，１２は外枠１１の肉薄底面の略中央部であ
る為透光性樹脂１６が突出部１２を覆う事がしば
しばで、突出部１２，１２，１２，１２の高さで
表示面の高さをそろえる事ができない。
本考案は上述の欠点が何故生じるかを検討した
結果、この表示器の製造工程のうち外枠１１の表
示面側をふさいで下向きとし、発光ダイオード１
７を外枠１１の内部に挿入したあと透光性樹脂１
６を流し込んで硬化させる工程で、注入した透光
性樹脂１６の粘度が低いので外枠１１の壁面に添
つて樹脂が盛り上り、この時肉薄底面と突出部１
２，１２，１２，１２との段差が小さいため突出
部１２，１２，１２，１２側面等まで樹脂がくる
事と、透光性樹脂１６の注入工程で外枠１１が微
動しやすく、特に過大な量を注入した時に上述し
た樹脂の盛り上り部分から外枠外にあふれようと
する為突出部１２，１２，１２，１２を覆う事に
なる事実を確認し、その対策を行なつたもので、
以下本考案を実施例に基づいて詳細に説明する。
第２図は本考案実施例の発光ダイオード表示器
の斜視図で、第３図はその外枠１の底面図であ
り、同一の個所には同一の番号が付してある。図
に於て１は白色のABS，ACS、ポリカーボネー
ト等からなる不透明樹脂成型品の外枠で、箱形を
なしている。この外枠１の下方隅部には、あたか
も断面Ｌ字状の棒材を貼付したかの如くに突出部
２，２，２，２が設けてあり、特に外枠１の底面
が長方形の場合にはその短辺側底辺３，３を突出
部２，２，２，２で覆つてしまわないように構成
してある。これによつて突出部２，２，２，２の
内面と外枠１の底面の間に充分な段差４，４，
４，４が形成されると共に、前記樹脂注入に際し
ては突出部２，２，２，２の側面に金型等を係合
させる事で外枠１を固定する事ができるし、樹脂
の注入量が多いときは隣接する２つの突出部２，
２でささえられた形の表面張力を起こすのでまず
短辺側底辺３，３を越えて樹脂があふれ出すか
ら、突出部２，２，２，２を覆つてしまうことは
ない。５，５，５，５は先端に発光ダイオードを
載置配線したリード線で発光ダイオードが外枠１
の内部に位置するよう挿入されており、６は透光
性樹脂であるが、これらは第１図に示した従来例
と同一の構成となつている。
以上の如く本考案は箱形の不透明樹脂からなる
外枠と、外枠内部に挿入された発光ダイオード
と、外枠内部に充填された透光性樹脂を具備した
発光ダイオード表示器に於て、外枠の下方隅部に
底辺全体を覆わないような突出部を外枠の外側か
ら設けたものであるから、外枠の側面を支持する
場合でも突出部がくさびのように働いて外枠が固
定されるから製造しやすく、突出部を透光性樹脂
が覆わないからこの表示器を支持基板や回路基板
に水平に取付ける時に取付やすい。

  1. 箱形の不透明樹脂からなる外枠と、外枠内部に
    挿入された発光ダイオードと、外枠内部に充填さ
    れた透光性樹脂を具備した発光ダイオード表示器
    に於て、外枠の下方隅部に底辺全体を覆わないよ
    うな突出部を外枠の外側から設けた事を特徴とす
    る発光ダイオード表示器。
