Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、タクシ−１運送トラツク等の営業車、自家
用車等の自動車、およびその他の交通機関を対象にその
運行状況を記録する走行レコーダに関する。
【従来技術とその問題点】
この種の走行レコーダとして、業務用自動車を対象に車
両に搭載したタコメータ方式の走行レコーダが公知であ
る。しかしてこタコメータ方式の走行レコーダは各時刻
における自動車の走行速度をアナログ値として記録する
のみであってその利用価値は僅かに運行管理面に生かさ
れるに過ぎず、仮に万一運行中に交通事故に遭遇した場
合にも、その時点での走行速度が判るだけであって事故
発生の周囲状況の把握は当事者の記憶ｆ辿る以外になく
、故障発生原因の事実を客観的に確かめることができな
い。
【発明の目的】 この発明は上記の点にかんがみなされたものであり、自
動車等を対象にその運行の際の車両周囲状況を映像とし
て記録し、例えば先記したタコメータ方式の走行レコー
ダの記録と併せて活用することにより、その車両の運行
管理面および万一の交通事故遭遇の際の周囲状況を客観
的かつ正確に把握できるようにした新規な走行レコーダ
を提供することを目的とする。
【発明の要点】
上記目的を達成するために、この発明は走行時における
車両の周囲状況を撮影するビデオカメラ、および該ビデ
オカメラの映像信号を記録媒体に記録させるビデオ記録
装置を車両に搭載し、その車両運行の際の周囲状況を映
像として記録するようにしたものである。
【発明の実施例】
第１図ないし第３図はそれぞれこの発明の異なる実施例
の構成配置図、第４図、第５図はビデオ記録装置から映
像モニタに写し出された画像を例示するものであり、各
図において１は自動車の車体、２は車体１の屋根上に据
付は装備されたビデオカメラ、３は車内に設置したビデ
オ記録装置、４は映像モニタ、５はバッテリｉｆｉ、　
６は信号ケーブルであり、これらで走行レコーダを構成
している。 ここで第１図の実施例では、ビデオカメラ２はその撮影
視野が前後左右に変えられるように、カメラレンズ２１
の向きをカメラ本体の軸中心０の回りで矢印方向に回転
できるように構成されたものであり、例えば数秒周期で
レンズ２１の向きを前。 右、後、左へ順次変えて自動的に回転するか、ないしは
指令で撮影視野を一定の向きに設定して自動車運行時に
おける車両の周囲状況を撮影する。 一方、第２図の実施例では車体の屋根に固定配備された
ビデオカメラ２がその前後左右の各視野に向くレンズ２
１を装備しており、所定の周期で前後左右のレンズで撮
影した映像を順に出力する。また前記第１図、第２図は
自家用車ないしタクシ−等の乗用車を対象としたもので
あるのに対し、第３図は運送トラックを対象としてその
運転台の屋根にビデオカメラ２を装備した例を示す、な
お前記ビデオカメラ２の視野範囲に付いては、前後左右
の相互間で各視野が互いに一部うノブして死角が生じな
いような配慮が成されている。これにより同じ事象を異
なった視角から見ることができ、より立体的な観察１分
析が可能となる。さらに前記のビデオカメラ２には夜間
特等、被写対象となる周囲の照度が暗い場合の撮影のた
めに、その方向への撮影に同期して赤外線を投射する赤
外線発光装置が付設されている。 一方、ビデオ記録装置はビデオテープレコーダないしは
ビデオディスク等、ビデオカメラの映像信号をテープな
いしディスクのビデオ媒体に記録する周知の装置が採用
され、かつエンドレステープを使用する等して所定の撮
影時間を１サイクルとした周期で映像信号の記録を書替
えるような機能、並びに前記の映像信号と同期してその
撮影の日付、標準時刻（時間２分１秒）を記録する計時
機能を備えている。 また映像モニタ４は運転席からの操作指令でビデオ記録
装置３から映像をディスプレイに写し出すものであり、
ここでモニタされた画像を第４図、第５図に例示する。 なお画面中の片隅には撮影の日時およびその撮影方向（
Ｆは前方、Ｒは後方を示す）が同時に写し出されている
。 なお前記各実施例は自動車を対象とした例を示したが、
自動車以外の各種交ｉｍｍ関にも同様に実施してその運
行状況を映像として記録することが可能である。
【発明の効果】
以上述べたようにこの発明によれば、走行時における車
両の周囲状況を撮影するビデオカメラ、および該ビデオ
カメラの映像信号を記録媒体に記録させるビデオ記録装
置を車両に搭載し、その車両運行の際の周囲状況を映像
として記録するようにして走行レコーダを構成したこと
により、ドライバーに対しては自分の運転状況が客観的
にビデオ撮りされてデータ化されることから安全運転を
心掛けるような心理的効果が働くようになり、また特に
業務用車両に付いてはその運行管理面のデータとして使
用でき、さらに万一の交通事故遭遇の際にはその映像を
再生して写し出すことにより、その事故発生の周囲状況
を正確かつ客観的に検証することができて事故処理対策
としての活用も可能である等、実用的価値の高い走行レ
コーダを提供することができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １）走行時における車両の周囲状況を撮影するビデオカ
    メラ、および該ビデオカメラの映像信号を記録媒体に記
    録させるビデオ記録装置を車両に搭載し、その車両運行
    の際の周囲状況を映像として記録するようにしたことを
    特徴とする自動車等の走行レコーダ。 ２）特許請求の範囲第１項記載の走行レコーダにおいて
    、ビデオカメラが所定の周期でその撮影視野を前後左右
    に変える機能を備えたものであることを特徴とする自動
    車等の走行レコーダ。 ３）特許請求の範囲第１項記載の走行レコーダにおいて
    、ビデオカメラがそれぞれ異なる撮影視野に向く複数の
    レンズを備えたものであることを特徴とする自動車等の
    走行レコーダ。 ４）特許請求の範囲第２項および第３項記載の走行レコ
    ーダにおいて、各方向の撮影視野が互いに一部でラップ
    していることを特徴とする自動車等の走行レコーダ。 ５）特許請求の範囲第２項および第３項記載の走行レコ
    ーダにおいて、ビデオカメラがその撮影視野に向けて赤
    外線を投射する赤外線発光装置を備えていることを特徴
    とする自動車等の走行レコーダ。 ６）特許請求の範囲第１項記載の走行レコーダにおいて
    、ビデオ記録装置が所定の周期でビデオ媒体の記録を書
    替える機能を備えたものであることを特徴とする自動車
    等の走行レコーダ。 ７）特許請求の範囲第６項記載の走行レコーダにおいて
    、ビデオ記録装置が映像信号とともにその記録時刻を同
    時に記録する計時機能を備えていることを特徴とする自
    動車等の走行レコーダ。 ８）特許請求の範囲第１項記載の走行レコーダにおいて
    、ビデオ記録装置に記録した映像をディスプレイに写し
    出す映像モニタを装備していることを特徴とする自動車
    等の走行レコーダ。
