Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、表面がスウェード、バックスキンもしくはフ
ァブリック様になっている所望の色に着色されたゴムの
表層を有し、耐候性を有するBPDM−1ム押出製品に
関する。
KPDMは、主鎖に二重結合を持たないエチレン−プロ
ピレンコポリマーに、不飽和基を有する第3成分(ジエ
ン系モノマーなと)を導入してイオウ架橋できるように
したエチレン−プロピレンターポリマーである。このE
PDMは、耐オゾン性、耐熱性および耐候性等の点で優
れた性質を有するだめ、特に、自動車の各種部品例えば
窓枠ゴム、グラスラン、ドアスポンジ、ウェザストリッ
プなどの材料KPDMゴムとして広く使用されている。
これらに使用されるEPDMゴムは、すべてカーボンブ
ラックの配合により黒色化されている。
ところで、近年、ユーザーのニーズの多様化に伴ない表
面がスウエード、バックスキンあるいはファブリック様
の外観を有し、しかも各種の色彩に着色された着色EP
DMゴム成形品が要求されるに至っているがこのよう々
成形品は、黒色のEPDMからなる基体層の表面に布を
貼合せて製造する方法あるいは同基体層の表面に植毛す
ることにより製造する方法などにより製造されている。
しかし、これらの方法は、押出、加硫後のゴム製品の表
面をパフ処理→洗浄→接着剤塗布→布貼合せ(又は植毛
)→乾燥等、複雑々工程を経由させなければならず、製
造コストが高くなる上1、接着状態にバラツキを生じ易
く、製品の品質管理も煩雑なこととなる。
その他、着色されたゴムを発泡させてその表皮を取り除
くことにより、表面がスウエード、バックスキンあるい
はファブリック様の外観の製品を得るという手段も考慮
されるが、このためには、前述の如きカーポツプラック
の配合をやめ、炭酸カルシウム、クレー等の白色光てん
剤、発泡剤を用い、あるいは、更に各種顔料等を配合し
、所望の色に着色された発泡成形品とすることが必要と
なる。
しかしながら、カーボンブラックを配合していない着色
KPDMゴムは、耐候性が悪く、そのため、非汚染性の
老化防止剤、紫外線吸収剤1、光安定剤等をそれぞれ単
独でまたは組合せて使用することも行われているが、期
待し得るほどの効果が得られていない実情にある。
本発明者らは、カーボンブラックが配合された黒色のE
PDMゴム基体層に対して、ある種のEPDMの着色ゴ
ムの発泡層を押出成形により、一体的に形成せしめ、そ
の表皮を取り除くことにより、表面がスウエード、バッ
クスキンあるいはファブリック様の外観を有するゴム押
出成形・品を得ることに成功した。
EPDM着色ゴムは、 EPDM黒色ゴムに比較して押
出加工性が悪く、その上耐候性も悪い。しだが゛つて押
出成形により、黒色ゴム本体上に、着色ゴムの薄い発泡
層を形成せしめるという本発明製品の製造における如き
方法は、従来、不可能とされていた。かかる見地からみ
て本発明による上記のゴム押出製品が提供されることは
驚くべきことである。
本発明のゴム押出製品につき以下詳細に説明する。
本発明のゴム押出製品は、カーボンブラックが配合され
ている黒色のKPDMからなる基体層の表面に、EPD
M75重量−以下とEBnMと塩化ビニルとのグラフト
共重合体25重量%以上とを配合してなる着色されたゴ
ムの薄い発泡層を一体的に形成せしめ、前記発泡層の表
皮が取り除かれている形状になっていることを特徴とす
るものであるが、」二記の着色されたゴムの薄い発泡層
に用いるゴム配合物は、FiPDM75重量%以下とF
iPDMと塩化ビニルとのグラフト共重合体25重置型
以上とを配合してなるものであることが本発明における
特徴的な点セある。
上記のEPDMと塩化ビニルとのグラフト共重合体は、
EPDMの存在下に塩化ビニルを重合させることにより
製造するととができる。本発明に用いられるEPDMと
塩化ビニルとのグラフト共重合体は、その中のBPDM
含有率が所定の値より低いと、EPDMと混和する場合
の相溶性が低下するとともに、それ自身のゴム弾性が失
なわれ、また、所定の値より高いと、耐候性の点で劣る
こととなる。したがって、とのEPDMと塩化ビニルと
のグラフト共重合体中のEPDM分の割合として゛は・
4〜60重量係重量型が使用される。
まだ、発泡剤としては、通常の発泡剤、例えば、水、ア
ゾジカルボンアミド(A、D、C,A )、ジニトロソ
はンタメチレンテトラミン(D、P、T )1.。
4.4′オキシビスベンゼンスルホニルヒドラジツド(
0,B、S、H)等が用いられこれら発泡剤の配合量に
ついては、所望される製品の表面におけるスウエード、
バックスキン、あるいはファブリック様の形状に応じて
1.2〜10倍の発泡倍率が得られるような量とする。
本発明のゴム押出製品の製造にあたっては、例えば、ク
ロスヘッドタイプの押出機を使用し、黒色のBPDMゴ
ム基体層の表面に前述の着色ゴム薄層を層成せしめて押
出し、常法により加硫し、着色ゴム層を発泡させ、その
後発泡層の表皮を例えば、研磨、切削等の方法で取り除
くことにより得ることができる。
本発明のゴム押出製品は下記の如き多くの利点を有する
ものである。
(1)従来のEPDM着色ゴムは、厚さ1咽以下の薄層
に層成することは困難であったが、本発明の製品におい
ては、薄層に層成することが可能であり、0.5mm以
下に層成することさえ可能であり、その薄層を発泡させ
るので、薄い発泡層を得ることが可能である。
(2)  (1)の如き薄層形成可能なため、コスト面
で極めて有利である(コストアップが小となる)。・(
3)耐候試験後の折曲げ試験によりクラック発生がほと
んどみられず、耐候性がよい。
(4)薄層部材料は、高温時の粘度低下により、押出加
工性がよく、また、発泡性もよい。
(5)発泡層部の材料と基体層材料との密着性がよい。
以下に、本発明のゴム押出製品の押出加工性および耐候
性その他の特性について、比較例と対比した実験例を掲
げる。
実験例 薄層部材料に使用したEPDMと塩化ビニルとのグラフ
ト共重合体組成物としては次のものを使用した。

0、ヨウ1+4 素価5、プロピレン含量38重量% 塩ビ含量 70重量% グラフト率 60% 予め、180℃、7 Q r、p、m、に設定したBR
型パンパリミキサーに、上記のグラフト共重合体100
重量部、可塑剤(DOP) 30重量部、スズ系安定剤
2重量部配合の組成物を投入し、5〜8分間混練し、溶
融状態を確認した後、100℃、2V25r、p、m、
08吋0−/L/、= ツi 2 ++l+IIK テ
冷却後、シート出しした(これを以下組成物Aと記す)

1〜6のBPDMと組成物への配合割合(重量部)は、
次表のとおりとした。

nerals &Chem社製) 各実験例、比較例ともに、まず1.F!PDMまたはK
PDMと組成物Aを、100℃〜120℃、2g/!5
rpmの8吋ロール、ニップ1岨で5分間混fJり稜、
二ツゾを3 mmにし、充てん剤、添加剤を投入し15
分間混練した。
次にロール温度を50℃まで冷却し、ニップ3 m/m
でイオウ、加硫促進剤、発泡剤をろ〜5分間で添加し、
その後、ロールニップを0.5咽にて薄通しを2回実施
し、再度ロールニップを3 m/mにし、分出しを行な
った。
この配合物を、押出加工性検討用試料とし、ムーニー粘
度および押出特性を測定した(測定結果は表1に記載し
た)。
表中の押出特性の数値は、ASTMD−2260に記載
されているガーベイダイを使用し、グイ温度80℃、ヘ
ッド温度70℃、バレル温度60℃、スクリュ一温度4
0℃、押出速度5 m/1ninの条件で測定した値を
、ASTMD−2330に従って表示したものである。
また、この配合物を、平ダイ(厚さ2喘、中30箇)を
使用して、上記押出条件で、タンザク状成形物を押出し
、200℃×15分間ホットエアー中で発泡加硫して、
耐候性検討用試料へし、耐候性を測定・した(測定結果
は表−2に記載した)。
肛1本発明のゴム押出製品の耐候性その他一般的なりロ
スヘッドタイプの押出機(基体層部L/D−10,′7
5φ、薄層部L/D = 6.40φ)を使用し、基体
層の黒色ゴムとしては、後記光3の配合処方を用い、薄
層部の着色ゴムとしては、前記実験例1〜6、比較例1
〜5の配合処方を用いて、グイ温度8o℃、へwJ温度
7゜℃、バレル温度6.0’C,スクリュ一温度40℃
に設定し、押出速度5 m/minの条件で、着色され
たゴム表層を有する押出製品を押出し、200℃ホット
エアー中VC20分間放置し、発泡加硫させた。
各側の製品を使用し、着色ゴム発泡層の膜厚、黒色ゴム
層との密着性を測定した。
着色ゴム発泡層の膜厚は表4に示すとおりであった。
表  3 表  4 註)比較例のものは、薄層(1胴以下)押出が困難。
黒色ゴム層との密着性は、実験例Nα1〜乙の発泡着色
ゴム使用の製品(本発明の実−例の製品)も比較例1〜
5の発泡着色ゴム使用の製品もともに良好で、テストに
よっても層間剥離は見られない。
次に、前記着色ゴム発泡層の表皮をサンドは−パー(=
l1100 )で研磨除去した前記各側の製品を使用し
、耐候試験後の90°曲げ時におけるクラック発生の有
無を測定した。
耐候試験後の90°曲げでは、本発明の実施例(実験例
Nα1〜6の発泡着色ゴム使用)の製品は、クラック発
生は見られなかった(フレキシビリティに優れている)
のに対し、比較例Nα1〜5の発泡着色ゴム使用の製品
ではすべてクラック発生が見られた。
なお、上記の耐候試験は、スガ試験機製の、WF!L−
8UN−HOB型ウェザ−メーター湿式法200時間照
射によった。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. カーボンブラックが配合されている黒色のFiPDMか
    らなる基体層の表面に、FiPDM 75重量型以下と
    EPDMと塩化ビニルとのグラフト共重合体25重量%
    以上とを配合してなる着色されたゴムの薄い発泡層を、
    一体的に形成せしめたゴム押出製品であって、前記発泡
    層はその表皮が取り除かれている形状になっていること
    を特徴とするゴム押出製品。
