Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は自動車の車間距離を維持する安全装置に関する
。
従来より自動車の前方の物体を検出し、ブレーキ等を作
動させる安全装置が種々提案されているが、走行条件に
よってはブレーキを作動させるよりもエンジンブレーキ
を作動させる方が望ましい場合がある。
本発明の目的は、自動変速機を備えた自動変速機におい
て、先行車との距離が設定値以上に縮まったとき、自動
変速機を自動的にダウンシフトさせて強力なエンジンブ
レーキを作用させ車両の衝突を防止する装置の提供にあ
る。
つぎに本発明を図に示す実施例に基づき説明する。
１０は車間距離検出装置を示し、ともに車両の前方に装
置されている超音波送端マイク１および超音波受端マイ
ク２、前記送端マイク１の発振回路３、前記受端マイク
２の受信回路４、串両走行中一定の時１ｌｌｌｌＩ隔で
前記超音波発振回路３を作動させる距離測定指示回路５
、および発振回路３での発信から受信回路４での受信ま
での時間をカウントするカウンター６からなる。７はカ
ウンター６でカウントした時間から先行車との距離を演
算し記憶する記憶および演算回路、８は前回測定した車
間距離と今回測定した車間距離を比較し、その差が設定
値以上となったとき出力する比較器である。２０は自動
変速機の電子制御回路であり、１１は車速検出センサ、
１２はスロットル開度検出センサ、１３は論理回路を含
み、車速およびスロッにル開度が所定の条件になったと
き自動変速機３０の油圧制御装獣をアップシフトまたは
ダウンシフトさせるよう出力する変速コンビ１−夕であ
る。
本発明では前（ロ）測定した車間距離と今回測定した車
間距離との差値が車速、車両加速度、およびスロットル
開度に対応して決定した設定値以上のとき、電子制御回
路２０が自動変速１ｉＩ３０をダウンシフトさせるよう
出力する。これにより自動変速機３０内でダウンシフト
がなされエンジンブレーキが強力に作用し、車両の衝突
が未然に防止される。
なお車間距離測定装置１０は上記実施例以外に光その他
の手段で先行車との位置を測定するものでもよい。
以上の如く本発明の車間距離帷持装習は、車速、スロッ
トルｌｌ！１ｌｉＩなど車両走行条件の検出手段と、該
検出手段からの出力を入力し、車速、スロットル開度な
と車両走行条件が設定値となったとき所定の出力を生ず
る論理回路手段とからなる電子制御装置により制御され
る自動変速機を備えた自動車において、 車間距離検出装置と、検出した車間距離データの記憶装
置と、前回検出した＊間距離と、今回検出した車間距離
とを比較し、差が所定値以上となったとき出力する比較
器と、該比較器の出力により自動変速機がダウンシフト
するよう出力する自動変速機の電子制御装置とからなり
、先行車との距離が設定値以上に縮まったとき、自動変
速機を自動的にダウンシフトさせて強力なエンジンブレ
ーキを作用させているので車両の衝突を未然に防止でき
る。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １）車速、スロットル開度など車両走行条件の検出手段
    と、該検出手段からの出力を入力し、車速、スロットル
    開度など車両走行条件が設定値になったとき所定の出力
    を生ずる論理回路手段とからなる電子制御装置により制
    御される自動変速機を備えた自動車において、 車間距離検出装置と、検出した車間距離データの記憶装
    置と、前回検出した車間距離と、今回検出した車間距離
    とを比較し、差が所定値以上となったとき出力する比較
    器と、該比較器の出力により自動変速機がダウンシフト
    するよう出力する自動変速機の電子制御装置とからなる
    自動変速機付自動車の車間距離維持装置。
