Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve dehydration efficiency and control the pH to dehydrated cake to neutral by adding untreated sludge to acid treated sludge then controlling the pH of the mixed sludge to ≤4 and further adding an Mg compound thereto thence controlling the pH of the mixed sludge to 8W10.
CONSTITUTION: Part of purification plant sludge 1 is fed to a sulfuric acid mixing vessel 12, where sulfuric acid 6 is added to the sludge and these are mixed with a stirrer 10, after which the mixed sludge is introduced into an acid treating and settling vessel 8, where it is settled and concd. Acid treatment sludge 2 is introduced into a sludge mixing vessel 11, where it is mixed with the untreated sludge 1, after which the mixed sludge 23 is introduced into the vessel 12, where sulfuric acid 6 is added to control the pH of the mixed sludge to ≤4.0. Thence, the sludge is fed to an Mg compound mixing vessel 13 where an Mg compound 16 is added thereto. This sludge is introduced into an alkaline agent mixing vessel 14 and is added with an alkaline agent 18, whereby the pH of the mixed sludge is controlled to 8W10. The sludge after the pH control is dehydrated with a dehydrator 21, and dehydrated cake 3 is discharged.
