Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the treatment of dehydrated cake easy and reduce the cost of the treatment of sludge dehydration by adding an oxidizer and a metallic ion dissociating material to sludge contg. org. materials and allowing the same to react under acidic conditions then adding a mineral acid and performing dehydration treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge 1 contg. org. materials is concd. in a concentrating device 2 such as centrifugal concentrator, and the formed concd. sludge 3 is transferred into an agitating tank 4, after which ferrous sulfate 5 which is a material dissociating metallic ions and hydrogen peroxide 6 which is an oxidizer are added into the aqueous soln. The sludge having been subjected to chemical oxidation in the tank 4 is flowed into an acid treating tank 7, where it is added with a mineral acid 8 such as sulfuric acid to be controlled to 2.0W1.5pH, thence it is subjected to dehydration by a dehydrator 9 such as filter press, whereby it is separaed to dehydrated cake 10 and dehydrated separation water 11. The water 11 is stored in a tank 12. The water 11 contg. a large amount of iron, aluminum, etc. to be recovered is reusable as a flocculant for flocculating and settling treatment.
