Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a rapid change of torque, by providing the second throttle valve interlocking to an accelerator pedal in the upstream of a throttle valve and throttling an intake pipe when recirculation of exhaust gas is stopped.
CONSTITUTION: Intake and exhaust pipes 2, 4 of an engine 3 are communicated by a recirculating passage 9 provided with an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve 7. The first throttle valve 5 controlled by a servodiaphragm valve 6 is provided in the intake pipe 2 and driven in a closing direction by control of both solenoid valves 8a, 8b in negative pressure passages 10 when the valve 7 is opened. Further the second throttle valve 14 is provided in the intake valve 2 to interlock to an accelerator pedal 17 through a time delay mechanism 16. Then the second throttle valve 14 is set its opening larger than the first valve 5 for speed of the engine not more than prescribed speed while reversely set to the above for not less than the prescribed speed by the delay mechanism 16, thus a rapid rise of speed can be prevented at the speed when EGR operation is stopped.
