Abstract

PURPOSE: To curb the increase in unburnt components in exhaust gas due to recirculation of the exhaust gas and to reduce the deterioration of a fuel cost by advancing the time of fuel injection according to recirculation of the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: While the diesel engine 1 is operated with a load lower than the 1st set value of load, each coil of the 1st and 2nd electromagnetic switching valves 46 and 51 and the 1st and 2nd pressure reducing valves 91 and 92 is electrified. As the result, a dobule-acting diaphragm device 21 moves a flapper valve 18 to the position III of fuel opening. The recirculation of exhaust gas is thereby performed at the EGR ratio of about 50%. Moreover, since the 1st and 2nd pressure reducing valves 91 and 92 are both closed at this time, reduction of the pressure of fuel inside a fuel chamber 81 is not performed, this results in the increase in the amount of movement of a hydraulic timer 82 in the direction of the left of a piston 84 and thus the time of fuel injection is further advanced in several degrees, e.g. in four degrees, compared with the time decided based on the rotational number of the engine.
