Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform effective reduction of NOx of an engine and ensure its drivability and fuel consumption, by interlocking an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control valve to a choke valve, providing the EGR control valve in an EGR passage and reducing an opening of said EGR valve when the choke valve is closed. CONSTITUTION:At normal operation, a choke valve 6 is opened, and a diaphragm 7b in a negative pressure control device 4 is moved upward in accordance with a pressure difference between chambers 8b, 8c to reduce an opening of an atmospheric air introducing passage 13a. In consequence, control negative pressure in a negative pressure passage 13b is increased, and a diaphragm 26 in a control valve 3 is moved upward to increase an opening of an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) passage 1. If the choke valve 6 is closed at cold start operation of an engine, increased Venturi negative pressure Pv is applied to the chamber 8b, the control negative pressure tends to increase an opening of the control valve 3. However an EGR control valve 50 operates to interlock to the choke valve 6 and tend to decrease an opening of the EGR passage 1, as a result, an EGR rate can be low adjusted.
