Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce pumping loss of a device, in which primary and secondary side intake passages are parallelly connected to an intake port, by interposing a timing valve, closing earlier than an intake valve at low load operation, in the primary side intake passage. CONSTITUTION:In an intake device, where a primary side intake passage 6 of relatively small contour and secondary side intake passage 7 of larger contour than of said passage 6 are parallelly provided and connected to an intake port 5 open-close operated by a single intake valve 4, a throttle valve 9 in an intake passage 3 opens and closes interlocking to an accelerator pedal, if this throttle valve 9 opens to not less than a certain opening degree, a throttle valve 10 in the intake passage 7 is opened interlocking to said valve 9. In this case, a rotary timing valve 11 is interposed in the primary side intake passage 6. This valve 11 is controlled in such a manner that the valve earlier opens than open timing of the intake valve 4 while earlier closes than close timing of the intake valve 4 at low load operation, in this way, pumping loss can be reduced.
