Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce an exhaust gas resistance and improve a thermal efficiency of an engine by disposing an exhaust gas bypass valve equipment which operates on supercharged pressures and running speeds of the engine in an exhaust gas bypass passage of an exhaust turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A turbocharger 4 contains an exhaust turbine 4a and a compressor turbine 4c. An exhaust gas bypass valve 9 which operates on supercharged pressures and running speeds of an engine is disposed in an exhaust gas bypass passage 7. A diaphragm equipment 12 which operates on supercharged pressures from a suction passge 2 and a secondary diaphragm equipment 13 which operates on discharged pressures from a fuel injection pump 10 in proportion to running speeds of the engine are arranged parallelly. Bypassing a part of an exhaust gas in an operation range where the engine runs at high speeds under partial loads may reduce an exhaust gas resistance and supress increasing back pressures of the exhaust gas, therby improving a thermal efficiency of the engine.
