Abstract

PURPOSE: In an internal combustion engine with a supercharger which is composed of a turbine 2a and a compressor 2b, the upper flow position of the exhaust pipe 3 to be connected to the supercharger 2, and the lower flow position of an air cooler 5 in an air inlet pipe 4 are connected with each other by a connecting pipe 6. A valve 7 is set up on the above connecting pipe 6 and connected to a sensor 8 whose function it is to open the valve when the temperature of an exhaust gas is low. Under the above arrangement, the proposed over-cooling prevention device is formed. When the engine functions at a low load and in low temperature of an exhaust gas, part of the exhaust gas is called back agin to an air intake 4 so as to prevent the sucked air from being over-cooled.
