Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the excessive supercharging, and to improve the antiknocking performance, by providing a control valve in a sub-exhaust path that is in communication with the downstream section of a turbine of a turbosupercharger and with a combustion chamber, which control valve may be opened when the supercharging pressure is equal to or above a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A suction path 3 and a main exhaust path 4 are provided which are in communication with the combustion chamber 1. The control valve 14 is provided in the sub-exhaust path 12 in communication with the combustion chamber 1 and the main exhaust path of the downstream section of the turbine 9b of the turbosupercharger 9, which control valve 14 may be opened when the supercharging pressure is equal to or above a predetermined value. When the supercharging pressure is equal to or above a predetermined value, and it is worked at high rotational speed, the control valve 14 is opened, so that the pressure in the combustion chamber 1 may be easily lowered, the exhaust gas is prevented from remaining in the combustion chamber 1 to enhance the exhaust performance, and the occurrence of knocking can be positively prevented.
