Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable smooth operation, by providing a main and an accessory intake ports, connecting only the accessory intake port to an exhaust port and connecting the main and the accessory intake ports to the downstream side of a supercharger and by opening the accessory intake port when the intake pressure downstream to the supercharger has risen abnormally.
CONSTITUTION: In operation under ow load, the degree of opening of a throttle valve 24 is low and a diaphragm 19 is displaced in a direction A1 to close a valve 17 through a connecting member 23 and a lever 23a. As a result, the negative intake pressure does not sucks exhaust gas through an accessory intake port 16, so that thin gas is kept from flowing into an intake chamber 25. When the throttle valve 24 is fully open and supercharged intake is efected, the pressure of a chamber 18b goes up due to the rise in the pressure of an intake passage 14 to displace the diaphragm 19 in a direction B1 to open the valve 17. As a result, the intake chamber 25 is connected to the intake passage 14 to heighten the pressure of the chamber 25 to keep the exhaust gas from flowing into the chamber. According to this constitution, abnormal combustion is avoided to smooth the operation.
