Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to set boost pressure at a desired level by providing a relief passage bypassing exhaust turbine and controlling the amount of exhaust gas passed through the relief passage by means of a valve in response to the signals given by a boost-pressure sensor and a sensor for detecting the revolutional speed of engine.
CONSTITUTION: A turbo-supercharger is constituted by compressor 2 disposed in intake passage 1 and exhaust turbine 4 disposed in exhaust passage 3. There is further provided a relief passage 7 bypassing exhaust turbine 4, and a valve 8 controlled by computor 9 is arranged in the relief passage 7. The computor 9 is afforded with signals from boost-pressure sensor 10 and revolutional-speed sensor 11, and valve 8 is driven in response to signals afforded from computor 9 to actuator 12, on the basis of program preset in computor 9. With such an arrangement, boost pressure can be set at a desired level to meet with the change in operational condition of engine.
