Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of supercharge for an engine at its low speed and obtain the better quality of its acceleration response, by supplying air in an air tank to an intake passage at the time of operation for the engine highly loaded at low speed and at accelerated speed.
CONSTITUTION: When an engine is operated, exhaust gas discharged from the engine 1 rotates a turbine 10 that drives to rotate an impeller 9. Air is pressurized by said impeller 9 and fed into an intake pipe 4. If the engine 1 is operated in a range of low speed, an engine rotary speed sensor 18 is actuated, here if load to the engine 1 is increased to operate a load sensor 21, signals from the both sensors allows a controller 17 to open actuate a valve 16. Then air in an air tank 15 goes into the intake pipe 4 to improve the supercharging rate as if a supercharger 6 were operated at increased speed.
