Abstract

PURPOSE: To stablize the combustion and reduce the furl consumption under a very low load, by providing a valve at or near an intake port and closing the valve for a specific period and providing a control valve which connects a secondary air passage to an exhaust port and controls the cross-sectional area of the passage.
CONSTITUTION: The intake port 5 fitted with a check valve 12, which is closed for a specific period in the intake process, is provided at the preceding side of the minor axis of a rotor housing 1 having a two-arc thochoid inside surface. The exhaust port 6 is provided in a side housing at the succeeding side of said minor axis. Secondary air is supplied from a pump 22 to the exhaust port 6 through a conduit 21 and replaced for the combustion gas in a partial chamber 4a. Thus, the combustion is kept stable even if internal recycle to the partial chamber 4a of strong negative pressure takes place under a very low load. The secondary air control valve 25 is controlled by sensors 26W29 for the rotational frequency, intake negative pressure, vehicle speed, cooling water temperature, etc. so that the valve 25 is opened only when the engine is under a very low load.
