Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve output performance at the time of driving under high load as well as stability in combustion at the time of driving under low load by feeding fresh air through a side port at the time of driving under low load and feeding fresh air through a peripheral port at the time of driving under high load.
CONSTITUTION: An air inlet port 5 for high load has a first closing valve 13 installed for opening and closing at the position near the trochoid circumferential face 2a of a rotary housing 2. This valve 13 is housed in a recessed place 14 formed on the internal bulkhead of the port 5 so that it may not hinder sucked air current at the time of opening the movement, at the same time, part of the housing circumferential face 2a is constituted by a valve body 13a at the time of closing the movement. In the meantime, a second closing valve 17 is allocated downstream of a throttle valve 16 for low load in an air inlet passage 10 for low load equipped with an air inlet port 6 for low load. Thus, at the time of driving under low load, the valve 13 is closed, the valve 17 is opened, whereas, at the time of driving under high load, the valve 17 is closed, and the valve 13 is opened.
