Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to maintain a fuel tank inside at a low pressrue close to an atmosphere by communicating an intake passage with a pressure chamber behind a positive pressure valve which is installed in a passage between the fuel tank and a canister.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel tank 1 is communicated with a canister 5 through a positive pressure valve 6 which opens by a positive pressure in the tank and a negative pressure one 7 which opens by a negative pressure as well in parallel. The canister 5 is also communicated with a pipe 8 through a negative pressure responding valve 10 which opens by a negative pressure in an intake passage 9. In this case, a pressure chamber 6b behind the positive pressure valve 6 is communicated with a negative pressure passage 11 through a pipe 13 so as to communicate the chamber 6b with the intake passage 9. With this mechanism, the positive pressure valve 6 is opened widely with an intake negative pressure behind it during an engine operation to maintain the fuel tank 1 inside at alow pressure close to an atmosphere so as to cope with a pressure increase in the fuel tank 1 immediately after an engine stop.
