Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively decrease NOx content in exhaust gas by increasing the recirculation rate of an exhaust gas recirculation passage in a diesel engine with a supercharger in accordance with the rise of exhaust gas pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The compressor 1a of a supercharger 1 is connected to an engine 2 via a suction passage 3, and a turbine 1b to the engine 2 via an exhaust passage 4. The passages 3 and 4 are interconnected by an exhaust gas reflux passage 5, and a flow controller 6 is placed in the passage 5. The controller 6 has a valve body 7 to be fixed on a diaphragm 8, exhaust gas is introduced into one chamber thereof through a duct 16. As exhaust gas pressure rises, the valve body 7 is opened to increase the exhaust gas flow in the passage 5.
