Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain high output of an engine by providing a by-path for flowing a portion of compressed intake at an outlet of a supercharger of a turbo-supercharging engine to the inlet side of an exhaust gas turbine to avoid surging region of the supercharger.
CONSTITUTION: Compressed air from a compressor 21 of a turbo-supercharger 30 is supplied to an engine 36 through an intake cooler 33 and a rotary valve 11. A by- path 40 and a check valve 41 are provided between an intake pipe 32 and exhaust pipe 37. In high load of an engine 36, since intake pressure is higher than exhaust pressure, the check valve 41 is opened to introduce intake into an exhaust gas turbine 38 through the by-path 40 and a heat exchanger 42. Then, since the heat exchanger 42 gives heat of exhaust gas from the exhaust gas turbine 38 to air passing through the by-path 40, reduction of energy amount supplied to the exhasut gas turbine 38 is rendered small by heat energy recovered in the by-path 40, and the compressor 31 ensures approximately same flow with the by-path 40 to avoid generation of surging while maintaining high output.
