Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an exhaust turbo supercharged engine which has increased low speed torque and is improved in its accelarating performance at the starting by constituting same such that exhaust pipes each formed to collect exhaust gas from a plurality of cylinders into a group is provided with branch passages through which exhaust gas can be delivered respectively to plurality of exhaust gas turbines.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust pipes 2A, 2B of an internal combusion engine each formed to collect exhaust gas from a plurality of cylinders 1 into a group are communicated to exhaust gas thrbins 3A, 3B which have two entrances, and a sluice valve 11 is provided between the exhaust gas turbins 3A, 3B and the exhaust pipes 2A, 2B. This sluice valve 11 is adapted to bepivoted by an acturtor device 12 to cut a flow of exhaust gas from the exhaust pipes 2A, 2B to the exhaust gas turbine 3A in accordance with such necessity. In particular, during low speed running of the engine, the sluice valve 11 is operated to cut flow of exhaust gas from the exhaust pipes 2A, 2B into the exhaust gas turbine 3A so that all of the exhaust gas is flowed into the exhaust gas turbine 3B, thereby maintaining the pressure of air supply high.
