Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent inclusion of air and smoothly charge molten metal by changing the molten metal into an injection sleeve while part of cavity is held communicated with the atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: A cavity 4 is open to a communicating hole 10 in a die clamped state, thereby communicating the inside and the atmosphere with each other. A charging plunger 9 is retreated to open the charging port 8C of a charging sleeve 8, and to inject molten metal M into the space above a plunger 6, thereby supplying the molten metal and storing the same. During this charging, the air in an injection sleeve 5 is exhausted from the hole 10 of the cavity 4, whereby the substitution of the air in the sleeve 5 with the molten metal is accomplished smoothly and quickly. The molten metal injection path formed by the sleeve 8 is not exhausted of air and is therefore a one way passage for the molten metal, thus the smooth and quick charging is accomplished.
