Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve castability, to prevent the generation of defects and to improve yield by sucking gas such as air from the inside of a cavity thereby evacuating the cavity. CONSTITUTION:Gas in a cavity 3 is sucked and evacuated with a vacuum pump through vent clearances 13 then through vent grooves 14 and a vent passage 15. Molten metal is charged through a sprue 4, and when a plunger tip 6 is advanced to fill the metal into an injection sleeve 5 and to exert pressure thereupon, a shutoff pin 8 moves forward, thereby opening the opening 5a of the sleeve 5. This forces the molten metal to be filled into the cavity 3. When the molten metal solidifies, the dies are opened, and the pin 8 is moved backward by an ejection plate 11, whereby the product is ejected. Thereby, run is improved, rippled surface defects are reduced, and castability is improved.
