Abstract

PURPOSE: To make high speed continuous casting possible by setting the amplitude of a mold in a specific range, and supplying a lubricant between the inside surface of the mold and an ingot in the specific position under the melt surface in the mold in perfroming continuous casting by using an oscillation mold.
CONSTITUTION: The amplitude S of oscillation of a mold 1 is set within a 10W 100mm range, and a lubricant is forcibly supplied from the position within 100mm under the melt surface 5 of the mold 1 via supply passages 4 into between the inside surface of the mold 1 and an ingot 6 from supply ports 2. It is supplied by a method of exerting pressure to the lubricant and supplying the same through the passages 4. Hence, the lubrication between the inside surface of the mold 1 and the ingot 6 is made stably uniform, and the generation of cracking and slag inclusion in the ingot 6 surface is obviated.
