Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a product body having no runners and heads with good workability by opening or closing the nozzle of a molten metal holding body provided above a metal mold casting part by facing thereto, by means of the upward or downward movement of a bar with a heating element in the holding body.
CONSTITUTION: A holding body 6 is moved upward by a hydraulic motor 11 to preset height by way of a control mechanism, and metal molds 3, 3 are clampled. On the other hand, a pouring nozzle 8 is closed with an opening and closng bar 13 by a hydraulic cylinder 16, and a sufficient amount of molten Al alloy 24 is supplied into the body 6 in a direction A. The heating element 19 in the bar 13 is heated by an electric power source 23 to heat the molten metal 24. Thereupon, the body 6 is lowered until a nozzle 8 is seated in close contact with a casting part 4 by facing said part. Next, when the bar 13 is moved upward to open the nozzle 8, the molten 24 is poured by gravity into the part 4. During this time, the molten metal 24 has undergone the storage in the body 6 and therefore there are no gas inclusion and slag inclusion. Since it is heated with the element 10 during solidifying in the part 4, the head effect is excellent. Upon ending of the solidification, the nozzle is closed with the bar 13 and the body 6 is moved upward.
