Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to produce castings which have no solidification nor shirinkage hole, with good yield rate, by fitly inserting the hollow refractory material by which the throttle part is formed at the bottom as a sprue runner in the mold space.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal which is poured from the faucet 25 is slowly controlled by the throttling action of the pouring gate 22, flows into the cylindrical part 21 of the upper hollow refractory material, and is gradually poured into its lower members of frame-work 30, 40, 50. This molten metal is retained in liquidus fluidity in the hollow cylinders 21W51. When the molten metal has filled the lowest member of frame-work 50, it overflows from the opening parts 52, flows into the space 6 by supply of molten metal from the throttle part 44, fills the space 6 by flowing from down to up and from the inside to the outside, and is solidified from the outside and below. Subsequently, the molten metal is made to fill in from the lower space 6 to the upper space 3 in order by being supplied with the feeder head action by the sprue runner of the members of frame-work 40, 30, 20. Thus the molten metal is smoothly poured, solidification as per the principle is executed, and castings of high quality can be produced.
