Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily fusion-bond ordinary cast steel and abrasion-resistant metal material by thermal inertia by pouring molten metals of both metals up to the specified height of the mold and further pouring the molten metal of ordinary cast steel from above during their solidifying.
CONSTITUTION: Molten metals of ordinary cast steel and abrasion-resistant metal material are kept poured from a sprue 1. After the overflow from an overflow port 2 is confirmed through a peep hole 3, the pouring of the molten metals is stopped. Thence, during solidifying or the molten metals or immediate after their solidification after lapse of a fixed time, molten metal of ordinary cast steel is poured from another sprue 4. Then, both metals melt and fusion-bond near the boundaries by the thermal inertia of the casting during solidifying in the mold.
