Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a clad material having no melt sicking defects and internal defects by allowing cleaned molten metal and the cleaned and activated surface of a base metal to contact with.
CONSTITUTION: A coating is beforehand formed on the outside circumferential surface of a base metal 10 with a glass coating material 6 of powder consisting of glass of borosilicic acid system, and the base material is inserted perpendicularly into combined molds until its bottom end is fixed to a closing member 12. A main electromagnetic induction heating coil 4 and an electromagnetic induction heating coil 5 for preheating are operated, and cooling water is supplied to a cooling mold 1.
