Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve efficiency and secure safety by automating all operation of a ladle.
CONSTITUTION: A platform 34 is stopped in front of a flatcar 1, and the molten metal is poured into a ladle 19 by tilting a fore hearth 21. Then, a revolving cylinder 5 is turned counterclockwide by driving a motor 8 provided on the flatcar 1 and a lift 16 is raised by actuating a cylinder 15. The revolving cylinder 5 is further turned and stopped at a position where the outlet 192 of the ladle 19 comes upon the sprue 371 of a mold 37. A damper 40 stops the lift 16 gently at a fixed position. Then, a vertically moving part is raised to hang up the rear end of the ladle, and the molten metal is poured into the sprue 371 of the mold 37. On completion of pouring, the ladle is restored to horizontal position and returned to original position following reversed steps. If the flatcar 1 is connected with the platform 34 by moving forward a chuck 38, pouring can be performed without stopping the platform 34.
