Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as a reaction intermediate for medicines, etc. from a raw material compound in high purity and yield, by reacting napthalenedisulfonyl chloride with an excess amount of an aliphatic alcohol in the presence an aqueous solution of an alkali.
CONSTITUTION: A naphthalenedisulfonyl chloride of formulaI(the positions of the substituent group are at 1,5- or 2,6-) is reacted with an aliphatic alcohol in an excess amount in the presence of an aqueous soluion of an alkali to give the aimed compound of formula II. The stoichiometric amount of the alkali based on the raw material is always kept at about 1.1 or less, and finally adjusted to 1.0W1.2. In adding the raw material and the aqueous solution of the alkali in portions, the raw material is always added first. The alkali is added in as short a time as possible.
EFFECT: Improved economic efficiency and operating ratio, and very advantageous to the industrial practical application.
