Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as an intermediate of pharmaceuticals, with simple process, in high yield, by reacting an ethylenediamine derivative with easily available ethyl oxalate in the presence of an alkali metal alcoholate under mild conditions.
