Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The isoprenylamine derivative of formulaI[n is 9 or 10; (Alkylene) is an alkylene chain having ≥2, especially 2 or 3 carbon atoms and may be substituted with OH group; Y is NH2, diethanolamino, or benzylamino which may be substituted at the nucleus]and its salt.
EXAMPLE: N-(3-Decaprenylaminopropyl)diethanolamine.
USE: It has antiviral activity and antitumor activity, and is useful as a drug. It exhibits interferon-inducing property.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by converting the isoprenyl alcohol of formula II (e.g. decaprenol) to a halide or arylsulfonic acid ester by conventional method, and reacting with the compound of formula III in the presence or absence of a base. The reaction solvent is preferably methanol, etc.
