Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A compound (salt) expressed by formulaI(A is an acyl group of an aminocarboxylic acid; Z and Z' are H or OH, however, are not OH at the same time).
EXAMPLE: 5'-O-Vallyl-5-fluorouridine hydrochloride.
USE: An antimalignant tumor agent, antiviral agent, immunological inhibitor or an intermediate therefor.
PROCESS: The protecting group of the N atom is removed from anucleoside derivative expressed by formula II (A' is an acyl group of an aminocarboxylic acid having the protecting group at the N-position) to give the compound expressed by formulaI. The compound expressed by formula II is a novel substance, and can be prepared by esterifying a nucleoside expressed by formula III, e.g. 5-fluorouridine, with an aminocarboxylic acid expressed by the formula A'-OH in which the N-position is protected.
