NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (m is 0 or 1; n is 0W9; R is H, 8W23C alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, etc.; R1 is H, aralkoxycarbonyl or acyl; R2, R3 and R6 are H or lower alkyl; R4 and R5 are H or lower alkyl which may be substituted with OH, etc.; R7 and R8 are H, lower alkyl, etc.), and its salt.
EXAMPLE: Methyl 2-[ benzyl 2-t-butyloxycarbonylamino- 2-bioxy-α-D-glucopyranosid-3-O-yl]-D-propionyl-L-valyl-D-isoglutaminate.
USE: An immunopromoting agent having low toxicity and effective to promote cellular immunity reaction which is important for the prevention f infection, and suppression and remedy of cancer.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared, e.g. by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III (R' is R except H) or its reactive derivative.
