Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a tuning fork type quartz oscillator that performs the secondary higher oscillation with the excellent frequency temperature characteristics, by setting the length of the oscillator in an optional direction on a (z) plate of quartz. CONSTITUTION:A quartz oscillator 71 is on the vertical face of the axis (z), i.e. on a (z) plate with a theta deg. turn given to the axis (z). The lengthwise direction of the oscillator 71 has a theta1 deg. angle to the axis (x). In such way, the frequency secondary temperature coefficient is extremely reduced for the reference temperature that affects the frequency temperature characteristics. Furthermore the peak level of the reference temperature can be set at a level higher than the prescribed value. The same effect is obtained by setting the lengthwise direction is set with the rotation of the axis (x) or (y) as long as the oscillator is on the (z) plate. In such case, the angle of rotation is limited by the peak temperature. Thus a tuning fork type quartz oscillator that performs the secondary higher oscillation is obtained with the excellent frequency and temperature characteristics.
