Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the correction of the temperature characteristics with one unit of the turning fork oscillator, by providing the electrodes so that one arm is excited by the secondary higher harmonic wave and the other arm is excited by the fundamental wave respectively. CONSTITUTION:For one oscillating arm of the tuning fork quartz oscillator, the electrodes are distributed so that the directions of the effective fields may be adverse centering on the portion having 0.6-0.9l (l: length of arm) from the free end. As the electrical node part is set in such way, arm 3a is excited by the secondary higher harmonic wave. And the other arm 3b is excited by the fundamental wave. Accordingly, electrodes 4a and 4b are used in a set form, and electrodes 4c and 4b are used in a set of the other side. Thus oscillator 3 can be used as a 4-terminal oscillator. Then the fundamental wave and the higher harmonic wave are extracted individually, and the correcting signal is formed for the temperature characteristics. Thus the temperature characteristics can be corrected with one unit of the oscillator.
