Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an oscillator which is small-sized and has excellent frequency- temperature characteristics, by specifying the size ratio of an AT cut quartz oscillator whose plane shape is nearly rectangular. CONSTITUTION:In coordinates X, Y' and Z' having the X-axial positive direction facing this side and rotated counterclockwise around the X axis at cutting angle (theta) (approximate 35 deg.), quartz piece 1 has length (l) nearly in the X-axial direction, thickness (t) nearly in the Y'-axial direction, and width (w) in the Z'-axial direction. Then, w/t should be 2.0-2.8, and consequently the point of inflection is nearly at the normal point, which is very useful. In addition, l/t should be 9.8-11.0, 11.5-12.7 or 13.1-14.3, and consequently equivalent resistance R1 and the Q value are excellent and the R<1>-Q variation gradient to variation in l/t is small, so that the work will be easy. Further, fluctuations of frequency to those of temperature are less.
