PURPOSE:To produce a miniature AT-cut quartz oscillator having the flexion point of the frequency temperaure characteristics at the level near the normal temperatures, by selecting both the shape and the size as prescribed. CONSTITUTION:Length (l), width (w) and thickness (t) are selected in the directions of axes X, Z' and Y' respectively for the rectangular AT-cut quartz oscillator having bevel parts 3 and 3. At the same time, the width/thickness size w/t is set to 2.0-2.7, and the length/thikness size l/t is set to 3.5-4.6 or 5.0-6.2 each. Such oscillator has a high resonance acuteness as well as the flexion point of the frequency temperature characteristics at the level near the normal temperatures. As a result, a miniature oscillator can be obtained with the flexion point near the normal temperatures and the good frequency temperature characteristics. The same effect can also be obtained by the convex-type oscillator.
