Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain the frequency characteristic having a frequency zero temperature coefficient peculiar to an AT cut crystal vibrator by selecting l/t and w/t within a prescribed range respectively when the length, the thickness and the width of the vibrator are denoted as l, t and w respectively. CONSTITUTION:Length and width are taken in the x axis direction and the z' axis direction respectively to constitute a square AT cut crystal vibrator. In this case, for the purpose of separating a spurious frequency from the frequency of thickness slippage vibration, the influence of spurious which has the frequency determined by outline dimensions is aboided by selecting proper outline dimensions of the vibrator as follows; 14.5<l/t<16.2 and 3.8<w/t<4.4 are set when the length, the thickness and the width of the vibrator are denoted as l, t and w. Thus, a frequency characteristic having a frequency zero temperature coefficient peculiar to the AT cut crystal vibrator can be obtained.
