Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove variations in the power source voltage by supplying power to a circuit in which a resistance and a light emitting element and a resistance and a light receiving element are connected in series respectively from a common power source circuit to almost equalize the current ratio between the light emitting element and the light receiving element and the ratio between resistances separately connected in series thereto. CONSTITUTION:A first circuit in which an LED 9 and a resistance RL are connected in series and a second circuit in which a photo transistor 11 and a resistance RP are connected in series are both supplied with a power from a power source voltage Vcc. When the quantity of incidence light of the photo transistor 11 is an intermediate value, the output voltage Vo of the photo transistor 11 and the forward breakdown voltage Vt of the LED 9 are adjusted so as to be equal. At this point, the ratio between the current If flowing through an LED 9 and the ratio of photovoltaic current IC generated in the phototransistor 11 and the ratio between the resistances RL and RP are determined to be equal.
